My name is Fred Spencer. I was born and raised in Hawaii and can’t really think of any other place in the world that I would rather live. I have a beautiful wife, a son, 2 daughters, a son-In-law and as of July 13, 2008 a handsome grandson. That makes me a Grandpa! I wouldn’t have it any other way.

The creation of “808Islands.com”…

I find it difficult at times to try and concentrate on building a business because there is so much in Life that I want to accomplish. I started this blog to use this as a starting point for my Web2.0 venture. My goal here is to become self sufficient within 3 years and retire from a J.O.B. that I once thought that I would be there forever. “Boy was I crazy”

A Hard Decision…

This was probably one of the hardest decisions for me but I believe it was the right one. For the past 16 years my wife and I ran a successful T-shirt screen printing business. It kept the bills paid and extra money to provide our family the things that we wouldn’t have been able to afford if we didn’t have the business. The business held my wife and me prisoners. It was probably our fault but the extra income was great. I finally realized in January 2008 that we need to find an easier way to provide an income for our retirement. The business was dissolve in June 2008. We still have the equipment and use it for our personal projects.

One more thing…

I have a passion…no one knows about it, not even my wife. My wife might have had clues but never mentioned it to me if she knew my passion. This passion consumes a lot of my time and that might be part of the reason I decided to close our T-shirt business. This passion is, to learn everything I can about Web2.0, Blogging, Internet Marketing and Website Building. My second passion is helping people, teaching them what I’ve learned and learning from them. I believe in helping people and giving them the knowledge to succeed in life.
